Attorney Michael D. Ditore Named Partner at Corboy & Demetrio

Corboy & Demetrio is proud to announce that Attorney Michael D. Ditore has been named Partner at the Chicago law firm. In just six years at Corboy & Demetrio, Mike has attained an extraordinary record of success.

Since 2018, Mike has attained multiple seven- and eight-figure verdicts and settlements. Mike has had particular significant successes in plaintiff’s medical malpractice and police chase cases.

“Mike’s shown superior and consistent work ethic, and his trial talents are textbook worthy. His appointment to Partner is well deserved,” said Corboy & Demetrio Co-founder Thomas A. Demetrio.

“I’m extremely honored to join such a distinguished group of Partners, and greatly look forward to this next chapter.” said Ditore.

Since 2023, Mike has been selected to The Best Lawyers in America. He was selected to the 2023 inaugural edition of Lawdragon 500 X - the Next Generation, and in 2020, he was selected to the prestigious “40 Under Forty” by Chicago Lawyer magazine and Chicago Daily Law Bulletin. In addition, since 2021, Mike’s been selected to Emerging Lawyers by Leading Lawyers.

He’s an active member of the American Association for Justice, the Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, and the Illinois State Bar Association.  In addition, Mike is a frequent lecturer on medical malpractice topics for ITLA continuing legal education courses and is a regular contributor to medical malpractice textbooks for trial lawyers.

Mike is dedicated to giving back to the community. He serves on the Young Professionals Board of the Center for Disability & Elder Law. He also serves as Director on the Howlett Cup Committee, which facilitates an annual high school mock trial competition among a diverse group of Chicago area Catholic schools.

Mike has served on the Young Professionals Board of GoodSports, a not-for-profit focused on increasing availability of sports programs and equipment to at-risk youth.

For eight years, Mike served as a coach of Loyola University Chicago School of Law’s Corboy Fellowship in Trial Advocacy’s mock trial team, serving as Head Coach from 2013 to 2021, helping students win several championships. He was chosen as Coach of the Year in 2016.

Before joining Corboy & Demetrio, Mike served as an Assistant State’s Attorney in the Cook Co. State’s Attorney’s Office where he was prolific, prosecuting over 500 cases, including first-degree murder cases, in his five-year career.

Mike’s a graduate of Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where he received his J.D. in 2013, and Illinois State University, where he obtained a B.S. in political science in 2010.
