Twelve Corboy & Demetrio Lawyers Selected 2013 Illinois Super Lawyers & Rising Stars
Corboy & Demetrio is pleased to announce that every partner at the Chicago law firm and two associates have been selected as 2013 Illinois Super Lawyers. Each year, no more than five percent of Illinois lawyers receive this honor.
“To have so many of our lawyers be recognized by Illinois Super Lawyers, including two associates for the first time, is simply a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our lawyers,” said Thomas A. Demetrio, founding partner of the Chicago personal injury law firm.
Mr. Demetrio was named one of the Top 10 Illinois Super Lawyers out of more than 80,000 in the state. It’s the third consecutive year for this distinction and he’s been on the Top 100 Illinois Super Lawyers list since the award’s inception.
Eight partners at Corboy & Demetrio have been named Illinois Super Lawyers each consecutive year since the inception of Super Lawyers in 2005, including David R. Barry, Robert J. Bingle, Philip Harnett Corboy, Jr., Michael K. Demetrio, Thomas A. Demetrio, Francis Patrick Murphy, Susan J. Schwartz and Rene A. Torrado, Jr. Partner Daniel S. Kirschner became an IL Super Lawyer in 2008.
Two other firm partners join Tom Demetrio on the Top 100 Lawyers list: David R. Barry and Philip Harnett Corboy, Jr. Corboy & Demetrio has the distinction of tying for the highest number of attorneys of any law plaintiff’s law firm in the top 100 category.

In addition, three associates, William T. Gibb and Michelle M. Kohut were again named Super Lawyers Rising Stars, dedicated to those lawyers who are under 40 and practicing fewer than 10 years.
Super Lawyers selects attorneys using a rigorous, multiphase rating process. Peer nominations and evaluations are combined with third party research. Each candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement.
