$7.1 Million for Child Injured During Birth
Corboy & Demetrio obtained a $7.1 million settlement on behalf of a seven-year-old girl, on the eve of jury selection, in a medical malpractice case stemming from her delivery. The girl's mother was given a drug to increase the intensity of her contractions so that she could have a vaginal birth but evidence showed that it resulted in an inadequate flow of blood and oxygen to the fetus. The child suffered brain damage prior to her birth.
