Corboy & Demetrio Proudly Supports Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans

12.19.2019

Corboy & Demetrio Managing Partner Kenneth T. Lumb passed out gifts to veterans’ families on Dec. 19, 2019, at Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans in Wheaton, IL.

Corboy & Demetrio participated in the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans’ Secret Snowflake holiday giving program this holiday season.  Employees “adopted” the families of three U.S. Veterans who are clients of MSHV, purchasing gifts from family members’ wish lists.

Corboy & Demetrio Managing Partner Kenneth T. Lumb, himself a U.S. Veteran, passed out presents and presented a donation to MSHV on behalf of the firm.  Ken served as a Captain in the Army’s Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAG Corps), serving four years as the Medical Claims Judge Advocate at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He is currently a retired major in the U.S. Army Reserve.

Helping veterans is something the law firm takes pride in as Corboy & Demetrio Co-founder Thomas Demetrio is also a U.S. Veteran. The shelter, based in Wheaton, has served a total of 600 homeless veterans since its inception and provides services for veterans living in seven northern Illinois counties. There are currently 1400 homeless veterans in Illinois.  The shelter’s mission is to end veteran homelessness altogether.
