Francis Patrick Murphy Selected to Best Lawyers in America, 2020 Edition
Corboy & Demetrio Partner Francis Patrick Murphy has been selected to Best Lawyers in America in the area of Personal Injury Litigation-Plaintiffs for the publication’s 2020 edition. A partner since 1991, Patrick practices in all areas of personal injury and wrongful death cases.
Patrick is well-known for his experience in porch and deck collapse cases, negotiating a global settlement of $16.6 million for victims. During his nearly 40 years at Corboy & Demetrio, Patrick has obtained more than 50 settlements and verdicts of $1 million or more.
Patrick is recognized as an attorney in the top 5% of all Illinois lawyers by Leading Lawyers. He is an Illinois Super Lawyer and has an AV rating – the highest level awarded for professional excellence – from the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory. Patrick is also a member of the Lawdragon 500, a designation for only the top 500 lawyers of the 1.2 million in the United States. Since 2015, he has been selected to Irish Legal 100, compromising the top 100 lawyers and judges of Irish decent nationwide.
Besides his work in the courtroom, Patrick holds many leadership positions. He was appointed to the Board of Directors of Lawyers’ Assistance Program by the Illinois Supreme Court, serving as president from 2013-2015 and currently serving as vice president. Patrick has served as an adjunct professor at Loyola University Chicago School of Law since 1987.
