$2 Million Settlement for Delayed Death of a Woman Struck by CTA Bus

The estate of a 62 year-old woman who was struck by a Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) bus and later died from complications resulting from her injuries agreed to a $2 million settlement with the CTA and its driver. As the Social Security Administration worker was crossing a street in downtown Chicago, a CTA bus made a left turn, striking her. She was treated and released from Northwestern Memorial Hospital but died 14 days later from complications resulting from the contusions and abrasions she received.  Corboy & Demetrio represented the estate.
