$3 Million Medical Malpractice Settlement

Cook County Circuit Court Judge Donald Devlin has approved a settlement in excess of $3 million that, over the next 25 years, will pay the plaintiff nearly $5.6 million in a medical negligence suit involving a medication error during sinus surgery. The plaintiff suffered memory and balance deficits.

Corboy & Demetrio partner David R. Barry, Jr., reported that the settlement will ensure that his client will get the support and attention she may need. Barry was also complimentary of the professionalism of the defendants, their attorneys and Judge Devlin in the handling of settlement negotiations which were conducted early in the discovery process and allowed for fair resolution of this lawsuit.
