Twelve Corboy & Demetrio named to 2024 Illinois Super Lawyers and Rising Stars
Corboy & Demetrio is proud to announce that 12 of its attorneys have been selected to Illinois Super Lawyers and Rising Stars for 2024, including Co-founder Thomas A. Demetrio who has been ranked first or second in the state for the last decade out of all attorneys in Illinois and out of all practice areas.
In addition, Partner Philip Corboy was named to “Top 100” for a 12th year and Partner Michelle Kohut was named to the “Top 50 Women Lawyers.”
Thomas, Philip and Partner Francis Patrick Murphy were all selected by Illinois Super Lawyers for the 20th consecutive year.
Corboy & Demetrio’s Super Lawyers include:
- Thomas A. Demetrio, selected for the 20th year, ranked second, overall, in state.
- Philip Corboy, Jr., selected for the 20th year, named to “Top 100.”
- Francis Patrick Murphy, selected for the 20th year.
- Daniel S. Kirschner, selected for the 13th year.
- Edward G. Willer, selected for the 12th year.
- Michelle M. Kohut, selected for the 11th year, named to “Top 50 Women Lawyers.”
- Kenneth T. Lumb, selected for the 11th year.
- William T. Gibbs, selected for the 9th year.
No more than 5% of attorneys in the state are selected to IL Super Lawyers, which has a
comprehensive selection process that includes independent research, peer nominations and
evaluations.
In addition, four Corboy & Demetrio attorneys were named to 2024 Rising Stars, which comprises Illinois attorneys younger than 40 or practicing law for fewer than 10 years. They are:
- Michael D. Ditore, selected for the fifth year.
- Britney R. Pennycook, selected for the third year.
- Mitchell W. Bild, selected for the first year.
- Tommy Demetrio, selected for the first year.
No more than 2.5% of eligible attorneys in the state are selected to Illinois Rising Stars. Like Super Lawyers, Rising Stars, which is also part of Thomson Reuters, uses independent research and peer evaluations in its selection process.
