Attorney David Barry, Jr., Featured Speaker at Medical Malpractice Seminar
David R. Barry, Jr., a partner and trial attorney at the Chicago personal injury law firm of Corboy & Demetrio, will speak at the "Medical Malpractice Seminar" sponsored by the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association (ITLA) on Friday, February 18, 2011 at the Oak Brook Hills Marriott Resort in Oak Brook, Illinois. Barry will speak and share his expertise on “Settlements and Empty Chair Defenses.” The Seminar, produced for attorneys and providing 3.5 hours of Minimum Continuing Legal Education credits, also includes presentations on opening statements, medical malpractice cases under the Federal Tort Claims Act, closing arguments and other topics of interest to trial lawyers.
An experienced and accomplished trial lawyer, Barry represents individuals and their families in plaintiff personal injury and wrongful death litigation, concentrating his practice in medical malpractice. Over the past six years, Chip has obtained over $200 million on behalf of his clients. In one of his recent record-setting cases, a jury awarded $22 million - the largest verdict ever in Illinois for the death of a woman - to the family of a mother who died after childbirth. Chip is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and is immediate past President of the Illinois Society of Trial Lawyers. He has served as President of the Trial Lawyers Club of Chicago and is a member of many local and national bar associations.
