New Warnings About Contaminated Medical Scopes

Bloomberg News reports that reusable bronchoscopes may present many of the same dangers as duodenoscopes.

According to Bloomberg, the FDA has recently warned that inadequately cleaned bronchoscopes can transmit infection between patients, with 50 reported cases in 2014. Similar problems with duodenoscopes recently led to at least 13 deaths from infection.
