$7 Million Record-Setting Jury Verdict for Injured Truck Driver
A Cook County jury returned a record-setting verdict of $7 million against the Soo Line Railroad Company and the Milwaukee Motor Transportation Company in favor of a truck driver who lost his right leg above the knee. The driver was injured when a train of twelve cars collided with his truck as he was attempting to load a trailer from a railroad car onto his tractor and he was pinned under his truck’s wheels. At the time of the verdict, it was the largest in the State of Illinois for the loss of a leg. Bob Bingle represented the driver.
