$10 Million Settlement for Teenager Trapped and Burned in Car Collision

Corboy & Demetrio negotiated a $10 million settlement for a teenager who was trapped and burned in her car due to the negligence of a truck driver. As a 17-year-old young woman drove to work, a semi-tractor and tanker trailer truck, carrying a highly flammable resin, styrene, maneuvered around a turn causing the rear of the tractor to swing out into the opposite lane of traffic. The tanker rolled over and slammed down onto the front of the woman's car. In addition to being trapped in the car for over two hours, a fire erupted and her legs were severely burned. In order to extricate her from the car, cranes had to be brought in to pull the trailer off the car.  In addition to several surgeries for the burn injuries, her left leg below the knee had to be amputated.
