$31 Million for Workers in Chemical Company Explosion and Fire

The Quantum Chemical Company in Morris, Illinois, exploded and caught fire following a leak of flammable ethylene. Corboy & Demetrio attorneys represented eight families of workers who were either seriously injured or killed in the explosion. Prior to the fire, a gas leak at the plant had been detected but a Company spokesman indicated that the plant was safe for the workers to return. Four minutes later, the explosion and fire occurred. The cases ultimately settled for a total of $31,856,352.
