Shawn Kasserman to Speak at Illinois State Bar Association's Symposium for Judges and Lawyers

Shawn S. Kasserman, partner at the law firm of Corboy & Demetrio, will speak at the Illinois State Bar Association’s “Pleadings and Motions: A Symposium for Judges and Lawyers” at the Rand Lake Conference Center in Ina, Illinois on Friday, October 12, 2007. Kasserman will be speaking on “Civil Complaints: Plaintiff’s Perspective,” and discussing drafting complaints, anticipating possible motions, and responding to defense motions.

Kasserman, a litigation attorney at Corboy & Demetrio, has achieved exceptional results for his clients. He has successfully tried cases involving medical malpractice, product liability, premises liability, transportation negligence, municipal liability and contract disputes. Mr. Kasserman has also handled many successful appeals both as an appellant and appellee, and has settled cases involving theories as diverse as toxic torts and defamation. He is a frequent speaker for legal, business and community groups and has published articles on such topics as jury selection and civil procedure. He is listed in the top 5% of all Illinois attorneys by the Leading Lawyers Network and has been designated a “Super Lawyer.” He is currently on the Board of Managers for the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, and is a member of the American Association for Justice and the DuPage County Bar Association. He is also very active in “Kids in Danger” and “Anchored for Safety,” groups started by parents of children killed by defective products, with the goal of protecting others. Mr. Kasserman graduated from DePaul University College of Law.
