Corboy & Demetrio Attorney Michelle Kohut Elected President of Women Everywhere

Chicago, IL (October 15, 2009) Michelle Kohut, a Chicago personal injury trial lawyer with the law firm of Corboy & Demetrio, was elected President of Women Everywhere - Partners in Service Project, Inc. (WE). She will serve a one year term.

WE, a not-for-profit corporation, is a collaborative effort of nine women’s Bar groups, working together to plan and coordinate volunteer activities on behalf of high school girls, as well as women and children, in need. Through WE, several hundred volunteers, including federal and state judges, attorneys, and friends of the legal community donate time to the Educational Program and the annual Community Service Day project. Kohut has been actively involved with WE for the last four years, most recently serving as Vice-President of the Board of Directors.

"I am very honored to be elected President of this outstanding organization," said Kohut. "My trial work at Corboy & Demetrio keeps me very busy, but the work of this organization is so important and beneficial, that I am happy and honored to commit my personal time to it."

Michelle is also active in the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois where she presently serves as treasurer. Prior to joining Corboy & Demetrio, Kohut was a Law Clerk to William D. Maddux, Presiding Judge of the Law Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County. She is a graduate of Loyola University College of Law and a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
