Fallen Tree Lawsuit Filed by Corboy & Demetrio

A fallen tree lawsuit has been filed by the Chicago law firm of Corboy & Demetrio on behalf of a family whose two children were killed and whose other children were injured when a tree fell on their campsite.

“The deaths and injuries to the Stuebs family are a result of the camp ground owner’s negligence in failing to properly maintain the grounds and trees,” said attorney Philip Harnett Corboy, Jr.  “Property owners have a responsibility to monitor rotten trees so as not to endanger the public.”

The complaint alleges that the family, consisting of Jason and Christina Stuebs and their seven children, were camping at a site in Illinois. On the third night of their stay, a very violent thunderstorm, with high winds, rolled in and woke everyone up. As Jason and Christina were trying to get all the kids up and scrambling into their nearby vehicle, a large tree fell on one of the tents, killing their 9-month-old daughter and 4-year-old son. Another son was injured by the falling tree.
