Daniel Kotin Appointed to Lawyers Lend-A-Hand to Youth Board of Directors
September 2009Attorney Daniel Kotin, a partner and trial lawyer at Corboy & Demetrio, has been appointed to the Board of Directors for Lawyers Lend-A-Hand to Youth. He will serve a one year term.
Lawyers Lend-A-Hand to Youth
Originally started as a program of the Chicago Bar Association, Lawyers Lend-A-Hand to Youth supports tutor/mentor programs, drawing most of its financial support and volunteers from the legal profession. The board of directors sets the policies and priorities for the organization and takes an active role in the review and awarding of more than $200,000 a year in grant funds to tutor/mentor programs.
Dan is a highly successful and experienced Chicago personal injury, wrongful death and medical malpractice lawyer. As a result of his vast experience, he has attained leadership positions on Steering Committees and has been appointed Lead Counsel on mass tort litigation arising from fires, train derailments, airplane accidents and other disasters. Dan has achieved numerous multi-million dollar jury verdicts and settlements on behalf of clients, including the most recent $29.6 million verdict he secured on behalf of a woman injured in a Metra train crash. Dan is involved in many legal and civic organizations and regularly lectures at various bar association and interest group seminars. He has published chapters and articles in legal books, periodicals and newspapers and he is frequently consulted by the media as a legal expert on contemporary legal issues and cases.
