$7 Million Record-Setting Settlement for Senior Injured at Target

October 2009

A record-setting settlement of $7 million was agreed to by Target and Besam USA, Inc., a mechanical door manufacturer, for the injuries sustained by a senior citizen when she was struck by a malfunctioning automatic door as she entered a Target store in Rosemont, Illinois. Chicago personal injury lawyers, Philip Harnett Corboy, Jr., and Kenneth Lumb, trial attorneys at the top-ranked Corboy & Demetrio law firm, represented the elderly victim.

Numerous media outlets reported on the settlement. Marion Brooks, anchor and reporter for NBC Channel 5 News, interviewed Mr. Corboy and presented the story on the 10 p.m. newscast. View her story here.
