David Barry Files Lawsuit Against Columnist Doctor

Columnist doctor accused of mishandling baby’s delivery

Dr. Lauren F. Streicher, the "Ask the OB/GYN" columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times, was named in a civil lawsuit filed Tuesday in Cook County Circuit Court by the parents of a boy she helped deliver last year.

The suit said Streicher and Dr. Eve Feinberg should have offered a Caesarean section to Stefanie Radis instead of intensifying efforts toward a standard delivery, using a vacuum retractor and forceps.

Radis’ son, Joshua Radis, was born and Northwestern Memorial Hospital last year and suffers from cerebral palsy and a lack of control over his limbs, according to the lawsuit filed by Dave Barry of Corboy & Demetrio.

The suit names Streicher, Feinberg and Northwestern.

Streicher declined comment on the lawsuit, which seeks unspecified damages.
